Ű BY MARK MATHEN VICTOR GADGET REVIEW
L ENOVO’S gaming hardware when it comes to display monitors sits in two camps: Legion targets buyers willing to spend more for premium features, while LOQ is geared towards those who want speed without obliterating their wallets. The Lenovo LOQ 24-10 Monitor fits squarely into the latter. On paper, it offers the kind of specifications that would have sounded high-end just a few years ago. It has a 200Hz refresh rate, 0.5ms MPRT response time, HDR10 support and AMD FreeSync Premium, all packed into a 23.8-inch In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel. The question is whether those numbers translate into a good real-world experience. Built for competitive play If this review was about general or office use, those specifications mean nothing and the article would end here, but for gaming, the answer is mostly yes, the LOQ 24-10 provides a good experience. The first thing that stands out is the refresh rate. At 200Hz, the monitor pushes well beyond the standard 144Hz that still dominates the mid-range market. Fast-paced shooters, such as Valorant , Counter-Strike 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone, feel smooth and responsive, especially if the monitor is paired with a capable GPU. On the PC, mouse movement is much cleaner, along with the camera panning being sharper and enemy tracking becoming easier, particularly in hectic gameplay. Casual players will likely not notice a dramatic leap from 144Hz, but regular competitive players probably will. The monitor’s IPS panel helps. As older gaming monitors would often force buyers into a compromise in choosing between fast TN panels with weak colours or better-looking IPS displays with slower response times, Lenovo avoids the trade-off with LOQ 24-10’s solid colour performance with 99% sRGB coverage and true 8-bit colour depth. Colours on the monitor look rich without being oversaturated, making the display usable beyond just gaming – for activities such as light photo editing, video work and general media consumption. AMD FreeSync Premium and Vesa Adaptive Sync support help reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay. In practice, adaptive sync works as expected. Frame pacing stays smooth across varying refresh rates, particularly in demanding modern games such as Diablo IV where the screen can get crowded. Lenovo’s software support is another small bonus. Lenovo Artery allows users to adjust settings and manage display options through software instead of navigating monitor menus manually. It is not a headline feature, but it improves usability. Clean design, practical features Connectivity with the LOQ 24-10 is straightforward without any extra bells and whistles, which is acceptable being a budget gaming monitor. It has two HDMI 2.1 TMDS ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 connection, which cover most gaming setups.

Console support includes PlayStation 5, Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch compatibility, making the monitor flexible for mixed PC and console users. More impressively, the monitor comes with a DisplayPort cable in the box, which is increasingly uncommon and genuinely useful. The monitor’s design follows Lenovo’s recent gaming aesthetic: Restrained, clean and functional. Its Luna Grey colour finish avoids the over-the-top “gamer” styling that plagues the industry and the thin bezels on three sides help modernise the look and make dual-monitor setups cleaner. Where compromises appear The LOQ 24-10 is not without its faults or shortcomings. Brightness reaches 300 nits, which is acceptable but unremarkable. Indoors, the monitor performs well enough in most lighting conditions thanks to its anti glare coating. HDR10 support exists, but expectations should stay realistic. Without higher peak brightness or local dimming, HDR content gains only a modest boost in contrast and highlights. Games and movies look slightly punchier, but this is not the kind of HDR experience you would get from a premium Oled or Mini-LED panel. Resolution is where some buyers may hesitate. The monitor sticks with Full HD at 1920×1080. On a 23.8-inch display, pixel

density remains decent enough for gaming and daily use, and the lower resolution helps players hit higher frame rates more easily. Still, the market has shifted. Many competing monitors now offer 1440p at similar sizes and prices are falling steadily. If your PC can comfortably handle QHD gaming, a sharper panel may be the better long-term choice. That said, there is still logic behind Lenovo’s decision. E-sports players often prioritise refresh rate over resolution and 1080p remains the easiest route to consistently
pushing 200 frames per second. The LOQ 24 10 clearly targets that audience first. Still, compromises appear in the stand. You only get tilt adjustment, with no height, swivel or pivot support. That limitation may frustrate users who spend long hours at a desk. Thankfully, Vesa mount support is included, so buyers can replace the stand with a monitor arm later. Strong value in crowded market The biggest challenge for the LOQ 24-10 may simply be competition. The gaming monitor market is crowded, especially in the 24-inch segment. Buyers can now find fast IPS displays from brands such as MSI, Acer and Asus with similar specifications. Pricing will determine how attractive Lenovo’s offering becomes. If priced aggressively, the LOQ 24-10 makes sense as an entry-level e-sports monitor with a few premium touches. The 200Hz refresh rate, IPS colour quality and adaptive sync support give it genuine gaming credibility. Its weaknesses – limited ergonomics, average HDR performance and Full HD resolution – are noticeable but understandable at this tier. For players focused mainly on competitive gaming, the LOQ 24-10 does what it needs to do. It stays fast, responsive and visually clean without inflating the price with features many buyers may never use.
