THI S school holiday season, MyTown Shopping Centre invites families, friends and food lovers to come together for a flavour-filled celebration with the launch of MyFoodie Fest, happening until June 7. Designed as a vibrant and family-friendly festival, MyFoodie Fest brings together exciting food experiences, live entertainment and interactive activities across the centre, creating meaningful moments for shoppers to eat, explore and connect throughout the long weekends. The festival will feature two exciting experiences: 0 Foodies on Fire (May 27 – June 2), taking place at Town Park and Sunken Garden, will bring together over fifty vendors serving a mouthwatering variety of grilled, fried and savoury street food favourites. Shoppers can also enjoy live performances, interactive activities and a lively outdoor atmosphere perfect for families and food enthusiasts alike. 0 Delectable Foodies × Coffee Week (June 3 – 7), happening at Central Town, will offer a charming garden-inspired showcase featuring artisanal coffee, pastries, desserts and other sweet indulgences. S HANGRI-LA Kuala Lumpur is collaborating with Oriental Kopi for a limited-time culinary showcase at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge, where Malaysian comfort flavours are presented in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026. This partnership showcases the authentic flavours of local kopi culture and beloved Malaysian home cooking, presented for local guests and international travellers discovering the country for the first time. At the heart of the collaboration are two homegrown brands that have each contributed to shaping Malaysia’s dining culture in their own way. Founded by Datuk Calvin Chan Jian Chern, Oriental Kopi is recognised for preserving the familiarity and nostalgia of traditional kopitiam experiences enjoyed across generations. Together, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur and Oriental Kopi celebrate not only beloved dishes and coffee traditions, but also the everyday moments and connections that define Malaysian dining culture. For Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, this collaboration further reinforces its distinction as the first five-star luxury hotel in Malaysia to be recognised and certified by the Department of National Heritage Malaysia for championing authentic Malaysian heritage cuisine in 2025. This recognition reflects an ongoing commitment to safeguarding local culinary traditions within a refined hospitality environment, ensuring that Malaysia’s heritage flavours are appreciated by guests of every background. Culinary experience The collaboration features lobster curry laksa, an exclusive creation available only at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. Conceptualised through a collaboration between Chan and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur executive chef Eric Fettke, this refined interpretation reimagines a Malaysian classic with elevated depth while retaining its signature warmth and spice forward character. The curry laksa noodles present the traditional expression of the dish, with coconut-rich broth layered with aromatic spices and served with noodles, tofu puffs, fish cakes and eggs. Familiar, comforting and generously spiced, it reflects the enduring appeal of Malaysia’s laksa culture. Light, buttery and gently sweet, it reflects the craftsmanship behind a classic cafe staple. Completing the experience, Oriental Kopi coffee is brewed from a golden-ratio blend of high-quality Arabica, Robusta and Liberica coffee beans, carefully roasted at high temperatures to unveil a bold aroma and deep flavour profile, creating an authentic Malaysian-style kopi experience. Distinctly Malaysian in character, it anchors the menu with familiar warmth and clarity. Each item from the menu is served with Oriental Kopi, except for the egg tart. Prices start from RM8 nett. Available daily at the Lobby Lounge from 12pm to 3pm, between June 3 and 17, the experience invites guests to gather over familiar Malaysian flavours, whether for a leisurely catch-up, a business lunch or a relaxed midday break, within an elegant setting.

Butter kaya toast is presented in its most nostalgic form, golden toasted bread layered with house-made kaya and chilled butter. Indulge in street food, artisanal coffee at MyTown’s MyFoodie Fest
“At MyTown, we believe shopping centres are more than just places to shop. They are spaces where people come together to discover something new and enjoy meaningful moments with one another. Through MyFoodieFest, we hope to bring families, friends and communities together through food, fun and shared experiences during the school holiday season,” said MyTown Shopping Centre general manager Mohd Azhan Che Mat. Beyond food and entertainment, MyFoodie Fest will also support a community initiative in collaboration with Gamer’s Hideout and Kechara Soup Kitchen Society. For over 17 years, Kechara Soup Kitchen Society has supported marginalised communities across Malaysia, including the homeless, urban poor and Orang Asli communities through its Soup Kitchen, Food Bank and Empowerment programmes. As part of this initiative, shoppers can participate in the Cooking-Off Challenge by making a minimum donation of RM1 to play the popular two-player Nintendo Switch game Overcooked . Participants will work together to achieve target scores for a chance to win tenant vouchers, with all proceeds channelled directly to Kechara Soup Kitchen Society in support of its ongoing community efforts.
