CASPER RUUD (pic) reached the final of the Italian Open on Friday after dismantling Italy’s Luciano Darderi 6-1, 6-1 in a rain-inter rupted match and set up a poten tial title showdown with Jannik Sinner, who will have to wait to complete his passage to the final after his clash with Daniil Medvedev was interrupted. Hunting a 33rd straight win in the ATP’s top-ranked tourna ments, Sinner was leading 6-2, 5-7, 4-2 when organisers called a halt to play following the second downpour of the day.
