A FTER nearly two decades away from the music scene, singer Krisya Norsabrina Roslan, better known as Krisya, is ready to return to the entertainment industry, with a renewed focus on refining her vocal quality and singing techniques. Krisya, 44, however, stressed that she is in no rush to release a new single. Instead, she is taking a more measured approach in charting the direction of her career, including exploring genres that truly complement her vocal character. “I want to evaluate my next steps in this industry more maturely because my voice is quite deep and not every song suits me. When I do return (to singing), I want to do it properly and deliver the best for my fans,” she said. The Gemersik singer said finding composers who understand the strengths of her voice is a top priority, to ensure that each song highlights her true vocal identity rather than merely following current trends. “For me, it is more important that a song is composed to suit my vocal character and capabilities, not just to keep up with trends,” she said, adding that she also hopes to produce an album. Elaborating further, Krisya said her renewed enthusiasm to return to the industry came after she was offered the opportunity to sing the theme song for the film Keluang Man last year, which she described as a major turning point in her life. She said prior to that, after getting married, she chose to focus on her family as well as managing a business with her husband. “But when the opportunity to re-record the theme song for Keluang Man came, it made me feel that this was truly a blessing and the right time to make a comeback,” she said. The mother of four also acknowledged that her husband’s full support has been her main source of strength in returning to the entertainment world, including sharing the responsibility of managing their household. “My husband encouraged me to
