I OI City Mall’s annual New Year’s Eve collaboration with Astro welcomed 2026 with a night of music, giveaways and celebration at Konsert Countdown Kita 2026. Attracting 143,412 attendees, the night featured performances by some of Malaysia’s biggest stars and concluded with a fireworks finale. Konsert Countdown Kita 2026 shone a spotlight on Malaysian unity, diversity and shared stories that bring people together. The concert was a vibrant showcase of Malaysia’s best performances by artistes from across the country, from pop idol group KLP48 and rock queen Ella to emerging talents from Astro’s hit programmes. As part of the celebration, IOI City Mall supported Tourism Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign through an on-ground collaboration, featuring a cultural dance performance that reflected Malaysia’s heritage, diversity and identity. “Konsert Countdown Kita 2026’s theme of unity is a reminder that despite our differences, we’re able to create moments of joy, connection and togetherness that carry with us into the new year,” said IOI Properties COO of property investment (Malaysia) Chris Chong. Bringing energy for 2026 The festivities kicked off with an energetic pre-concert featuring Era presenter Haziq Hussni as he warmed up the crowd with lively banter and interactive activities. Early attendees were treated to dynamic performances by KLP48 as well as fan-favourite talents from shows such as The Chosen One Xtra , Astro Star Quest , Gegar Vaganza , Talk to My Manager , Big Stage (Tamil) and Aattam . Hosts Nabil Ahmad, Yoon Ng and Revathy Mariappan then took the stage, blending their energy to reflect the spirit of the celebration and ushering the crowd through the night. The concert featured stand-out talents from start to finish. Starting from Sing It Out Loud 2024, JunJun, the season’s winner known for her heartfelt and emotionally charged performances, and Tamil musician Darkkey Nagaraja matched the night’s energy, adding their own flavours to the concert’s diverse showcase. Ruhan Ravindran amped the crowd afterwards with the spirit of unity, joining forces for a special performance of the song Gemuruh . The concert saw many electrifying performances, from legendary rock icons Alleycats bringing back their timeless classics, to performances by M-pop group Alpha, and singers Amir Masdi, Geraldine Gan, Nadeera and Hael Husaini. “Queen of Rock” Ella headlined the night, performing a few crowd-favourite hits. The celebration ended with a 10-minute-and-1-second fireworks display, symbolising the IOI moment. The finale brought the crowd together in a shared moment of joy as they welcomed the beginning of the new year.
