P DRM FC failed to capitalise on home advantage after going down 1-3 to Selangor FC in Super League action on Tuesday night. In the match held at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, Selangor opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Chrigor Moraes, who headed home a cross from Faisal Halim to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at half-time. After the restart, Chrigor struck again when he headed in a cross from Alvin Fortes in the 49th minute. PDRM managed to reduce the deficit through a powerful long-range strike by Fakhrul Azim in the 53rd minute. Red Giants midfielder Noor Al Rawabdeh restored Selangor’s two-goal advantage when he finished off a pass from Ahmad Zikri Khalili in the 67th minute to seal the victory. Meanwhile, wasteful finishing proved costly as Terengganu FC (TFC) fell 1-3 to Sabah FC at home on Tuesday night, said head coach Badrul Afzan Razali. He said the Turtles should have taken all three points after dominating both halves, but blunt finishing and defence lapses denied them any return. “Our main issue tonight was finishing. We

created chances but failed to score, and simple mistakes at the back made us vulnerable,” he said after the Super League match at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium. Badrul Afzan added that the problem mirrored last week’s match against Imigresen FC, where TFC controlled the game but failed to convert chances into goals. Meanwhile, Sabah FC acting head coach Alto Linus was delighted to snatch a full three points away from home, crediting his players’ fighting spirit despite conceding early. “Our tempo was slow in the first half, allowing Terengganu to dominate. They attacked but did not apply high or reaction pressing, and we took advantage by raising our tempo in the second half,” he said. He also praised goalkeeper Damien Lim for a string of crucial saves. The win lifted Sabah two places to eighth, ending the first round with 13 points, while TFC stayed fifth on 18 points. Earlier at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Brunei, DPMM FC defeated Penang FC 2-0. DPMM’s goals came from Jordan Murray in the 17th minute and Azwan Ali Rahman in the 23rd minute. – Bernama
