KPop Demon Hunters : First Netflix film to pass 300 million views
NETFLIX’S animated musical KPop Demon Hunters has become the first film on the platform to surpass 300 million views, the streaming giant said recently. The movie, released on June 20, had logged more than 314.2 million views around the world by Sept 14.
The film’s runaway popularity has propelled its K-pop-infused soundtrack, including lyrics in Korean, to the top of music charts worldwide. The song Golden , billed as a smash hit in the story, has also become one in reality, topping Germany’s singles chart for six consecutive weeks. – Bernama-dpa
Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the fantasy follows the K-pop girl band Huntr/x, three young women who lead double lives as demon hunters. Their mission is complicated when a rival boy band appears whose members turn out to be demons themselves.
Netflix says it has more than 300 million subscribers worldwide – meaning that, statistically, every subscriber has streamed the film at least once. The company counts viewing figures only for the first 91 days after release, so public tracking for KPop Demon Hunters ended on Sept 19.

Singapore’s Jean Seizure explores heartbreak in EP
SINGAPOREAN singer-songwriter Jean Seizure (Jean Goh) is exploring the emotional roles we take on in love in EP Pov . The EP is accompanied by a series of artworks created during an emotional chapter in Jean’s life, with pieces that reveal moments of her journey with embracing love. The pairing of music and visuals invites listeners to experience emotions from multiple perspectives, embracing the complexity of being human. “ Pov is my exploration of heartbreak through different lenses – some tracks paired with charcoal art I created in one of my darkest periods. It’s a collection of intimate fragments made out of art, music and personal stories from different perspectives and people,” shared Jean, who has been fascinated by perspectives since the age of five, having grown up in front of a camera as a child actor. Featuring six tracks, Pov features previously released singles You and Why Won’t You Love Me , together with newer additions I Can’t Even , Another Line , Second Thoughts and Fragments . Throughout the EP, Jean navigates heartbreak, longing and self-reflection, flipping the narrative of “the one that got away” into “the one I walked away from”. Why Won’t You Love Me dives into the ache of being strung along by someone you cannot let go of. I Can’t Even explores unspoken and impossible love. Another Line speaks about the struggle of moving on from someone who is long gone. Second Thoughts examines the turmoil of existing relationships when faced with an unexpected connection, and Fragments reflects on past love, moving from chaos to clarity. Together, the tracks touch on themes of the duality of heartbreak and healing, the tenderness of loving, self-reflection and clarity. Jean is a Singaporean artiste who began her career at age six in MediaCorp dramas. Transiting to music, she is known for her emotive pop-synth beats and has left a significant mark, being the only Singaporean featured twice on the New York Times Square Billboard for Spotify’s 2022 Equal and the 2023 Glow launch campaign. Apart from being a singer, Jean has also opened for notable acts and recently showcased her acting prowess in Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales #27, where she performed her own stunts. With experience in various multi-disciplinaries under her belt, Jean is a familiar face in the scene, constantly evolving and adapting to the changing times.
