Award winning entries at ITEX
M ANAGEMENT and Science University scooped five gold, seven silver and 3 special awards at the 36th International Invention, Innovation and Technology Competition Exhibition (ITEX) 2025 held recently in May this year. ITEX 2025 was supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Digital. In this event, MSU secured an impressive medal haul, earning five golds and seven silvers across various categories. The inventions covered multiple disciplines, including medical, health, beauty, fitness, sports, automotive, aerospace, aviation, transportation, environment, energy, and education. The breadth of entries underscores MSU’s integrative approach to innovation, addressing contemporary challenges and contributing to sustainable technological advancement. Security (AICS), the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE), the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS), the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), the School of Pharmacy (SPH), and the Software Engineering and Digital Innovation Centre (SEnDI). A project led by Dr Saeid Mezail Mawazi (SPH) won three special awards for the ‘Smart Epilepsy System: Wearable Biosensors with Location and Communication Features’(Epiguard). The project won an exclusive award for best invention, which came with an intellectual property patent. They garnered best invention universities/educational institutions for the invention with the highest marks, and best innovation was awarded by the University of Hafar Al Batin, Saudi Arabia.
