Red carpet glitz T HE 36th Golden Melody Awards, the most prestigious music awards in the Mandarin-speaking world, kicked off in Taipei City, Taiwan last Saturday. The award event, which has been held since 1990, is Taiwan’s equivalent of the
Grammy Awards. Singers, songwriters and composers from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea competed in more than 20 categories at the event.
