Lego takes root in couture with Moda’s botanical runway o Pavilion KL hosts fashion show featuring works by 13 Malaysian designers

textures. Fiziwoo’s Blooms of Silver Songket paired gold textiles with Lego epaulettes and crystal beading, and Double U by Jimmy Wong introduced structured silhouettes with geometric elements. Designer Ellie Lim highlighted movement and modern femininity through soft floral layering. Designer Jimmy Lim contrasted texture and form, pairing a garden-shed tutu with Lego blooms and later reimagining the qipao with a floral choker. Nanalyana’s midnight gowns reflected flowers unfolding at dusk, balancing structure with fluidity. Tangoo embraced vivid orchids, sunflowers and garden florals that symbolised endurance and joy, while Variante by Leslie Variyan celebrated Malaysia’s multicultural identity with Lego dahlias and buttercups as emblems of unity. The finale by Melinda Looi combined playfulness and strength in two striking creations, a full Lego flower gown and a hooded jacket described as a wearable garden.

T HE Lego Botanicals Fashion Show at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur proved creativity can bloom in unexpected ways. Presented by The Lego Group and the Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (Moda), the showcase united 13 Malaysian designers who reimagined Lego bricks as elements of high fashion. Model Amber Chia opened the runway in a Celest Thoi bridal piece inspired by Canterbury Bells, featuring a petal neckline and cascading Lego florals. Designer Arlina Ayou followed with wau bulan and songket -inspired looks that blended heritage motifs with botanical adetails symbolising renewal. Designer Ashley @ Kapas explored the theme of friendship through Lego floral accents, while Atelier Che and Atelier Prive Melson by Melvin Ashley Shah reinterpreted lace and kebaya designs with playful brick
