win over Aston Villa, but is unsure what comes next. The Dane, who joined United on a free transfer in 2022, did not go on the post-season tour to Asia but insists there is interest in him. “I’ve really enjoyed my time,” the Denmark international said. “It’s a club I’ve always looked up to – the club size and everything around it. “I’ve loved the pressure, loved the style of play with the different managers and the people at the club. “I mean, they’ve taken really good care of me and my family, so in that sense I’ve had three very, very good years. “Obviously it’s been a lot of ups and downs in football, but I think in general I’ve had a special time. “Future? First of all there’s a bit of a holiday and national team. Then after they we’ll see where next season starts, but at the moment there’s nothing (lined up). There’s options.” – The Independent
C HRISTIAN ERIKSEN has admitted Manchester United were lucky not to be relegated this season. United recorded their lowest League finish in half a century as they came 15th in the Premier League and took only 27 points from as many games under Ruben Amorim. And while they stayed up by 17 points, the experienced Eriksen thinks United can count themselves fortunate to be in the top flight again next season. He said: “I think unfortunately there’s been a lot of lows this season with the games, and obviously the (Europa League) final was the missing piece. It’s football.
“For me now, I think people are lucky that we are where we are, not relegated with the team with the season we’ve had so it is also a bit of luck you have to acknowledge. “Next season it has to be better, and I’m sure it will be.
I’m looking forward to watching it from the sides.” Eriksen will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires next month. He scored in his final United game,

OLIVER GLASNER has urged Crystal Palace to “go for every single one” as his FA Cup winners celebrated their upset Wembley win over Manchester City in front of more than 20,000 fans at Selhurst Park on Monday. Rain towards the end of the Eagles’ open-top bus parade through the streets of south London could not dampen the enthusiasm of Palace fans determined to revel in the club’s first major trophy in its 119-year history. “It’s very exciting, and we all will enjoy this journey, playing the Premier League, playing the Carabao (League) Cup, playing the FA Cup and playing the Europa League,“ Glasner said on stage. “Four competitions, four titles to win, let’s go for every single one,” the Palace manager added. Glasner led Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory in 2022, with the 50 year-old Austrian now credited with transforming Palace’s mentality and CHELSEA have discussed a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, as they hone transfer plans now that they have qualified for the 2025/26 Champions League. Victory at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, to round out the Premier League 2024/25 campaign, thanks to Levi Colwill’s goal, has handed Enzo Maresca’s side a boost. With Nicolas Jackson suspended for the final two games and Marc Guiu just 18 years of age, Chelsea had been left short in attack. The club are now actively targeting a striker in the market with the French star high on their list, though they also have significant interest in Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. ambition since arriving in south London in February 2024. “I couldn’t be more pleased to work with a group of players like they are,” added Glasner. “Not just because of their talent, they are great talents, but especially what great characters they are (and) I couldn’t be more pleased to manage in a club like Crystal Palace with fans like you. “We had tough moments in this season, but you were always behind us. You always supported us, and my feeling was we were always one Crystal Palace, and that’s why we could win the trophy, that’s why we could succeed, so thank you very much for your support, and let’s keep going like this.” Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who saved a penalty in a 1-0 Wembley win over City where Eberechi Eze’s goal sealed victory, said Monday: “This is for the fans. You deserve this. Enjoy it, and we’ll be back next season with more, hopefully.” – The Independent who has shone for Sporting this season, Manchester United are now expected to sign Delap, leaving Chelsea to extensively discuss a move for Ekitike. The 22-year-old has scored 22 goals in 45 games for Eintracht Frankfurt this season, having made a permanent move from PSG in the summer, after a successful loan. The French Ur-21 international displayed his talent with a superb strike against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League quarterfinal. A stumbling block for Chelsea could be Frankfurt’s valuation, with the Bundesliga side ready to demand around €100m (RM480m) for Ekitike. But Chelsea’s PSR outlook has been greatly bolstered by Champions League qualification, allowing flexibility. – The Independent
