comprehend Laika as a subject, along with everything that follows,” she explained. Nadin paints her night in English this time around. An anomaly, departing from her signature dense, highly poetic and metaphor-laden Indonesian lyricism. “Again, it’s my earlier songs. Written back in high school, even before ‘Nadin Amizah’ as the soloist people know today existed,” said the 26-year-old. Speaking of the album, Nadin offered a bold production experiment. She intentionally enlisted 10 different producers for the record, featuring notable names such as Lafa Pratomo, Baskara Putra, Enrico Octaviano, Otta Tarega and Feby Putri, among others. For Moonlight , Nadin brought in Dissa Kamajaya to take the helm as lead producer. “Even from the songwriting process, I already had a vision for its sonic layout, including the people who could bring out the best in it,” she added. As mentioned, Nadin’s third album is titled Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan . The name pays homage to a real historical figure: Laika, the dog sent on a one-way spaceflight by the Soviet space programme in 1957. Laika’s fate arrived all too fast. I NDONESIA’S most-streamed female artiste on Spotify in 2025 and the four-time AMI Awards winner Nadin Amizah recently released her new single Moonlight . Released under her independent label Sorai, the standalone track is available across all major digital streaming platforms. Interestingly, Moonlight has been around for quite some time. Nadin wrote it back in high school and occasionally performed it live. “Especially during the Sorai and Rumpang eras, before I even had an album. Quite nostalgic, indeed,” shared the Bandung-born singer songwriter. Moonlight itself has never been officially recorded or released until now. It finally serves as the atmosphere-setter for Nadin’s third studio album Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan (Laika, The Abandoned) . The reason: Its sonic architecture introduces the world of the album’s central subject, Laika. “Yes, Moonlight fits in sonically to introduce Laika’s world. Before getting to know her, I feel like we need to understand her universe first. From there, perhaps we can better o Single serves as atmosphere-setter for singer’s third album nothing more seriously than her craft of songwriting, refining here many of the motifs that distinguished her work previously on this new album that is otherwise, everywhere, full of surprises. The video, directed by Chris Maggio and Pablo Rochat, is the album’s second visual release, offering a bug-eyed, surreal take on a day in Los Angeles. Lost Weekend is the first Bridgers album since her multi-Grammy nominated sophomore album Punisher was released at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Much was made of her wise-for her-years virtuosity when her lauded debut Stranger in the Alps was released, about a month after the artiste’s 23rd birthday. Punisher was, it seems, universally praised as something of a promise made-good-on, a clever, alluring, measured yet thrilling, ultimately very memorable album from an artiste whose meteoric talent as a songwriter had been suddenly matched by her road-honed band and its richer, more daring accompaniment. In the hour leading up to the album’s release and throughout release day, fans around the world came together for a series of global midnight listening events, including sessions across Southeast Asia, all of which reached full capacity. The events offered attendees an
