GoRental, Green Tenaga to scale cleaner temporary power

Ryt Bank becomes Malaysia’s largest digital bank in just one year KUALA LUMPUR: Ryt Bank yesterday marked its first anniversary with more than 1.5 million customers, reached in 12 months. The bank was built on a simple conviction: that banking should work the way Malaysians actually live - at any hour, from anywhere, in their own language, in as few steps as possible. In February 2026, the Ryt Bank app became Malaysia’s most downloaded app across both the Apple App Store and Google Play, and ranked first in the finance category. Customers have turned to Ryt AI more than 10 million times in its first year to handle their everyday banking. Ryt Bank also offers a banking experience across English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese. “Nobody had built a bank like this in Malaysia before, and the team that made it happen is Malaysian from top to bottom,” said Ryt Bank interim CEO Wilson Soon. “We’ve put Malaysia on the world map for what’s possible when we rethink what a bank can be. But we couldn’t have done it without 1.5 million Malaysians choosing to make Ryt Bank part of their lives. This month is for them.” Throughout the anniversary campaign, customers can earn RM100 or a guaranteed RM5 for themselves and their friends with every successful referral, Ryt Bank’s biggest referral reward yet.

o Partnership will jointly invest in mobile BESS and develop commercial leasing opportunities

KUALA LUMPUR: GoRental Global has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Green Tenaga Pte Ltd to jointly develop and validate the commercial potential of mobile Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Singapore and Malaysia. Announced during the 4th Asean Battery Technology Conference (ABTC), the agreement is intended to make cleaner, quieter temporary power easier to access through commercial leasing rather than outright system ownership. The agreement comes amid sustained construction activity in both markets. Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority expects S$47 billion to S$53 billion in construction demand in 2026, while the Department of Statistics Malaysia reported that Malaysia’s construction sector grew 8.5% year on-year to RM46.5 billion in the first quarter of 2026. For project owners, this sharpens a familiar operational question: how to secure temporary power without

diesel fuel handling or on-site exhaust, while protecting uptime and meeting safety requirements. Under the MoU, Green Tenaga will lead engineering and system integration, with asset management support. GoRental will bring customer access and field deployment capability, alongside its leasing expertise. The first phase will centre on joint investment in and deployment of an initial mobile BESS asset. Commercial leasing will follow across both markets. The partners will target construction, infrastructure, industrial, airport, event and other temporary-power applications. Earlier this month, GoRental delivered an estimated 992.16 kWh of battery power over 36 operating hours at Outdoor Expo Malaysia 2026, avoiding approximately 803.65 kg CO₂e against a diesel-generator baseline. before committing at scale. Green Tenaga vice-president, APAC, Philip Lee said they see this collaboration as the foundation for developing a scalable mobile energy storage business in Singapore and Malaysia. “The goal is to expand the fleet based on real operating evidence and jointly develop next-generation solutions for the wider Southeast Asian market.”

30 GWh of BESS deployments globally. “For many operators, the barrier is not whether cleaner temporary power makes sense. It is whether the system will be dependable in live conditions and financially workable,” said GoRental Global managing director Colin Peh. He said this partnership combines engineering depth with deployment experience, giving customers a practical route to try mobile BESS
