This one-week festival provides 84 young musicians from the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia with a performance opportunity and development experiences involving learning, networking, collaboration and cultural exchange. This is an Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra initiative to celebrate the young talents of Asean and honour the region’s heritage as our legacy with contemporary works alongside classical music repertoire.

Silent Persistence Date: Until June 28 Time: Tuesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm Venue: Harta Gallery @ Harta Space, Ampang Well-known for his meticulously executed ballpoint pen on canvas artworks, the exhibition is Syahbandi Samat’s second solo exhibition held at Harta. Silent Persistence is a somewhat thematical shift away from themes of confession and regret depicted in his earlier works, offering the consequence and causality of “what if” explorations that lay bare vulnerabilities, reflections of the artist’s lived experience that resonate with how we grapple with everyday choices, while weighing the possible outcomes of our actions.
Ayodhya Putra (Ramayana) Date: June 28 Time: 6pm Venue: Kala Mandapam, Scott Road, Brickfields Entry fee: Invitations are via donation This stage performance transforms the ancient tale of Prince Rama, Sita and the triumph of light over darkness into a theatrical experience that is grand, emotional and accessible. Through the intensity of the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam, audiences can expect an immersive journey shaped by expressive storytelling, digital screen with English subtitles, intricate choreography and powerful live music.
Robert Rauschenberg and Asia Date: Until Nov 1 Time: Tuesday–Saturday, 11am–7pm;

Robert Rauschenberg and Asia brings together a selection of over 40 works the artist produced during and in response to his time in Asia between 1964 and 1990. Rauschenberg was an avid traveller, who espoused a spirit of experimentation and boundless curiosity. He redefined artistic boundaries by incorporating everyday objects and mass media images into his work, influencing the development of pop art, conceptual art and installation art.
Yuurei Neko Sama: Uncharted World Date: Until July 12 Time: Wednesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm Venue: ZHAN Art | Space, Jaya One Entry fee: Free This solo exhibition by acclaimed Malaysian artist and character designer Michael Chuah bridges the gap between character design and contemporary fine art. It follows Chuah’s signature creation Yuurei Neko Sama (the beloved cat turned ghost) and his loyal frog companion through various adventures that are brought to life on canvas. Uncharted World is a contemporary pop-art exhibition exploring what happens when curiosity overcomes comfort.
Jasmine Choi Plays Mozart’s Flute Concerto Date: June 20 Time: 8pm Venue: Dewan Filharmonik Petronas Entry fee: RM199–RM449 The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will perform Mozart’s Flute Concerto No.2 , originally written as an oboe concerto. Korea-born flautist Jasmine Choi will collaborate with the MPO to present this concerto. Renowned for pushing the instrument’s traditional boundaries, she has become an icon of the flute in the 21st century. She has collaborated with artistes such as Martha Argerich, Robert Levin, Julien Quentin, Sumi Jo and the Schumann Quartet.
818 Bloom by G-Dragon Date: June 12–21

Venue: Sunway Carnival Mall, Penang K-pop icon G-Dragon, together with his brand PeaceMinusOne and Korean brick brand Oxford, is bringing the pop-up experience 818 Bloom by G-Dragon to Penang, presented by Tiger Star Culture Group. The pop-up brings PeaceMinusOne’s iconic visual identity into a physical space, featuring a giant pixel daisy brick installation, colourful brick zones and multiple photo-worthy spots. Fans will be able to view PeaceMinusOne inspired brick designs and selected exclusive regional items up close.
Time: June 26–27, 8pm; June 28, 3pm Venue: Auditorium A, Komtar, Penang Entry fee: From RM25 Playwright and director Fa Abdul returns with her latest production Under One Roof , a poignant narrative of the fragile architecture of family life – where love, duty, memory and resentment exist side by side. The story is set within the walls of a modern Malaysian Indian household and examines what happens when years of silence, sacrifice and unresolved history begin to surface under the same roof.
