LAST week, the total turnover on Malaysia’s structured warrants market came in at RM785.6 million, up by 93.9% week-on-week (w-o-w). The surge in trading activity can be attributed to the heightened volatility in global equity markets. Warrants over the Hang Seng Index (HSI) continue to dominate with RM448.1 million traded, which is 57% of the total turnover. Meanwhile, warrants over Malaysian stocks and Hong Kong stocks were second and third with 36.5% and 5.4% of the market share, respectively.
