SATELLITE CAMPUS ... Gamuda Land and UCSI University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a campus within the 1,342-acre Gamuda Gardens township. Designed to accommodate around 2,000 students, the campus will house 45 classrooms, a multipurpose hall, indoor basketball courts, as well as other learning and recreational facilities. UCSI’s satellite campus will offer undergraduate programmes in business and management, creative arts, computer science, as well as EV and autonomous mobility. BANK HEROES HONOURED ... Banks in Malaysia on Wednesday honoured 68 outstanding bank employees for their exceptional vigilance and dedication in protecting customers from financial scams at the #JanganKenaScam Bank Heroes Recognition Event 2026. Collectively, these individuals helped prevent more than RM139 million in fraudulent transactions in 2025. The Bank Heroes Recognition Event, now in its second consecutive year, is part of the #JanganKenaScam campaign, a nationwide scam awareness initiative launched in 2023 by The Association of Banks in Malaysia and The Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia.
MRO FACILITY EXPANSION ... Collins Aerospace, an RTX Corp subsidiary, has expanded its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Subang Aerotech Park in Malaysia. The US$63 million (RM255.5 million) investment quadruples the company’s Selangor MRO footprint, growing from 46,000 to 164,000 square feet, and establishes Subang as its key regional hub for advanced component MRO. DOCUMENT EXCHANGE ... Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX), through subsidiary Ping Petroleum Ltd, has acquired a 20% equity stake in TI Exploration and Production Sdn Bhd (TI EP) from TI Petroleum Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Terengganu Inc. Both parties organised a document exchange ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday after the conclusion of DNeX’s 55th annual general meeting. SMART URBAN LIVING ... i-City is taking another step towards shaping future AI-enhanced urban experiences through a collaboration with Singapore-based TwinMatrix Technologies. The collaboration will explore selected resident-facing AI interaction concepts designed to create more intuitive and immersive living experiences across connected environments. The initiative is intended primarily as an experiential and interaction framework supporting the development of selected AI Companion concepts complementing the broader AI Living Urban Intelligence Platform being co-developed with Mesiniaga. LONG-TERM LNG DEAL ... Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Japan’s Jera Co Inc have signed a new long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement, extending their collaboration into the 2040s. Under the agreement, Petronas, through wholly owned subsidiary Petronas LNG Ltd (PLL), will supply up to about 2 million tonnes per annum of LNG over a 20-year period starting in 2028.
