T HE return of Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical continues to stir excitement among theatre fans with the announcement of popular actor Aqasha as Hang Tuah, completing the main cast lineup for the highly anticipated restaging of the iconic production. For Aqasha, the role carries a deeply personal connection. More than 20 years ago, he was already part of the world of Puteri Gunung Ledang when he portrayed Bendahara Melaka and served as the understudy for Hang Tuah – a character he will now officially bring to life on stage in 2026. In a post shared on Instagram by @pglthemusical, the production described Aqasha’s return as a full-circle moment. “Today, he returns to embody one of the most iconic and beloved figures in Malay legend – a warrior bound by sovereignty, loyalty and sacrifice, yet still deeply human beneath the weight of duty. “For this new generation of PGL, we searched for an artiste who could bring not only strength and gravitas to Hang Tuah, but also soul, maturity and emotional truth,” read the post. The announcement completes the list of principal cast members previously revealed, including Aisha Retno and Mila Mohsin as Puteri Gunung Ledang, Mimi Fly and Nadiah Aqilah as Bayan, Luqman Hafidz as Sultan Melaka and Yusuf Hashim as Gusti Adipati. A historicmoment in Malaysia’s rock music industry is set to unfold when legendary bands Search, Wings and XPDC share the same stage for the first time through the 3 Veto Concert at Megastar Arena on Aug 1. The concert is expected to revive the glory days of 1980s and 1990s rock music through a lineup of hit songs and high-energy performances that once were a cultural phenomenon. Concert organiser representative Ikhram Zainuddin told Bernama the idea of uniting the three legendary bands stemmed from his deep admiration for their music since childhood, as well as his desire to realise a dream after 15 years in the concert organising industry. “Bringing them together was not an easy task but thankfully everything went smoothly with the strong cooperation from all parties, including the artistes’ management teams.” Ikhram said the collaboration of the three iconic groups also symbolises appreciation for the legacy of local rock music. “Imagine one segment featuring three drummers, six guitarists and

three bassists performing on stage at the same time. That alone is already crazy and something rarely seen at other concerts.” He said apart from fresh musical arrangements for iconic songs such as Sejati, Isabella and Titian Perjalanan while preserving their originality, the use of audio-visual technology and projection mapping lighting is also expected to bring a new dimension to the concert. Meanwhile, Wings vocalist Awie said the 3 Veto Concert is more than just a musical performance but also a symbol of the unity of artistic souls that have evolved within the local music industry over the decades. He said the opportunity to collaborate with Search and XPDC carries great significance as each band has its own history, influence and loyal fan base that continues to follow their artistic journey. “Fans will not only enjoy the performances but are also expected to relive the spirit and emotions that once shaped their lives through our music,” he said. Tickets for the 3 Veto Concert are priced between RM189 and RM1,500.
