PAVILION OF SUSTAINABILITY ... Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s commitment to sustainability takes centre stage at the shopping mall’s Centre Court, where Pavilion Loves Sustainability returns with its most hands-on edition yet - bringing circular economy thinking, responsible textile disposal and everyday sustainability experiences directly to shoppers. This year’s campaign, which ends tomorrow, marks a significant milestone through a partnership with SWCorp Malaysia and the unveiling of Malaysia’s first shopping centre EcoHub, turning the mall into a live, participatory space for sustainable action. TVET SCHOLARSHIP ... The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) has secured a scholarship fund from the Hong Leong Foundation, which will benefit 35 students in advancing their Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The contribution was announced during the Malaysia and German Industry Synergy Circles session last Saturday, held in conjunction with Majlis Amanah Rakyat’s (Mara) 60th anniversary celebration at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. Mara Director-General Datuk Zulfikri Osman (third, left) witnessed the presentation of a mock cheque by Hong Leong Foundation executive director Quek Sue Yian (right) to GMI, which was represented by CEO and managing director Ahmad Solihin Mohamed Yusoff.

INNOVATION COOPERATION ... Mimos International Venture Sdn Bhd, the commercialisation arm of Mimos Bhd, has formalised a strategic partnership with Universiti Brunei Darussalam, marking a significant milestone in Malaysia-Brunei innovation cooperation. The partnership reflects a shared commitment by both nations to advance innovation-driven growth, foster cross-border collaboration and unlock the value of research through structured commercialisation pathways. REHDA THE MENTOR ... The Rehda Institute Youth Initiative 2026 held its first corporate mentorship session recently, bringing together up to 50 selected students from more than 15 universities nationwide for direct engagement with senior industry leaders as part of efforts to strengthen graduate workforce readiness in Malaysia’s built-environment sector. RIYI was first introduced during the Rehda Institute CEO Series in January 2026. The first mentorship session formed part of a structured three-session programme running throughout 2026.

HALAL INITIATIVE ... Nestle Malaysia continues to play an active role in Malaysia’s halal landscape. On Tuesday, alongside the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim), Nestle Malaysia showcased this commitment through the Synergy (Strengthening Your Network and Ecosystem for Resilient Growth) Halal Nestle Malaysia initiative. Building on a shared commitment to halal excellence, the programme highlighted Jakim’s recognition of Nestle Malaysia’s end-to-end halal ecosystem. FURNITURE TESTING HUB ... The Fitec Furniture Testing Centre (FFTC) was officially launched on May 3 in conjunction with Majlis Amanah Rakyat’s (Mara) 60th anniversary celebration held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. Established by Mara through the Furniture Industry Technology Center (Fitec), the FFTC is a strategic initiative designed to provide industry-grade furniture testing facilities, supporting higher quality standards, certification compliance, product innovation and industry-driven talent development. The FFTC was launched by Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang (centre).
