5SOS sinks Teeth into big Malaysian return o Australian pop-rock band brings Everyone’s A Star! world tour to Kuala Lumpur, 10 years after group’s first show here

A FTER nearly a decade, Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is making its return to Malaysia, much to the excitement of local fans. The band is set to perform in Unifi Arena on Nov 17 as part of its Everyone’s A Star! 2026 World Tour. Formerly known as Axiata Ű BY SHIVANI SUPRAMANI AFTER leaving fans feeling “hanging” following the RadjaWali concert in January, Indonesian band Wali finally made up for the disappointment with its “Konsert Wali Kembali”, held in an emotionally-charged atmosphere at the Bukit Jalil National Hockey Stadium last Friday. The nearly two-hour, non-stop performance not only rekindled longing among fans but also became a space for emotional expression with thousands of fans in attendance. The dress code – white for singles and black for couples – added a symbolic touch, colouring the night with deeper meaning. As early as 5pm, the area around the stadium was already packed with fans from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei – all eager not to miss the performance by the group. The heavy pour on the day did little to dampen spirits, as loyal fans waited as the weather eventually cleared, making way for the long anticipated evening. As the skies cleared later in the evening, Wali opened the show to thunderous cheers, which amped anticipation for a lineup of nostalgic hit songs.
