ENTER EASYHOME MALL ... China-based home furnishing brand Easyhome has officially launched Easyhome Mall in Malaysia on April 26, marking its first major step into the Southeast Asian market. Moving forward, Easyhome Mall, located in USJ 1, Subang Jaya, will serve as a base to expand into Southeast Asia, as well as into the Middle East and Central Asia. The mall project is developed in collaboration with Pavilion REIT. CX AWARD WINNER ... Razorpay Curlec, Malaysia’s leading payment gateway, was named the Best PayTech for Digital Customer Experience (CX) - Payments at The Digital Banker’s Digital CX Awards 2026. The Digital Banker is a globally trusted business intelligence and research firm for the financial services industry. It recognises institutions that are transforming digital customer experience through innovation. DIGITAL FINANCE HACKATHON ... TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, the operator of Malaysia’s leading digital financial services and lifestyle app TNG eWallet, completed its first-ever hackathon, TNG Digital FINHACK 2026, which focused on tackling known pain points in fintech, from fraud and security to financial inclusion, and demonstrated how AI is being applied in practical ways to solve them. Held from April 25 to 26 in Kuala Lumpur, the hackathon brought together over 300 participants from across Malaysia. TRUSTEES COLLABORATE ... Amanah Raya Bhd (AmanahRaya) and the Public Trustee of the Republic of Singapore (Public Trustee of Singapore) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint cross-border initiative aimed at strengthening efforts to locate and contact beneficiaries in Malaysia for unclaimed assets held by the Public Trustee of Singapore. PERFORMING ARTS BOOST ... The Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre (JCPAC) was unveiled on Tuesday, marking the culmination of a long-term vision to establish Sunway City Kuala Lumpur as a regional hub for the performing arts. JCPAC comprises a 1,200-seat Proscenium Theatre and a 150-seat Experimental Theatre. The inaugural season, from August, will feature Puteri Gunung Ledang and Butterfly Lovers , along with international productions making their debut in Malaysia. TEAM MEETING ... The Timber Exporters’ Association of Malaysia (TEAM) held its 71st annual general meeting in Shah Alam on April 24. The meeting saw the re-election of Chua Song Fong as president. At the event, senior officials from the Royal Customs Department of Malaysia conducted an insightful talk on the Sales and Service Tax and a question-and-answer session. TEAM reaffirmed its support for the exemption of sawn timber from the expanded scope of the tax and sawmill members were advised by the Customs Department to register as Registered Manufacturers.
