VIRAL Chinese singer Rong is set to stage his first ever concert in Malaysia, with the Rong [Searching • For Your Answer] World Tour in Malaysia taking place on June 20 at Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting. The concert marks a significant milestone for the singer’s international presence as he brings a whole new live experience with top-notch production from sound to visuals that will delight fans here, who have been anticipating to catch him live. A white-collar worker turned full-time singer, the avid music lover first garnered attention for his covers online. Then came his cover of Tai Duo (Too Much) , which turned him into an internet sensation. His music career took off in 2019 with the releases of Jing Yu (Whale) and Ni De Da An (Your Answer) . The latter, which have been inspiring listeners with hope, resilience and courage, cemented his name in the industry. Known for his distinctive smoky voice that moves fluidly across styles, Rong sings about relatable real-life experiences, touching hearts with songs such as Ni De Da An (Your Answer) and Yu Wo Wu Guan (None of My Business) , Ni Jiu Shi Na Dao Guang (You Are the Light, Suo You De Bu Gan (All the Resentment) and Wei Fa Song (Not Sent) – as well as covers Xiang Jian Ni Xiang Jian Ni Xiang Jian Ni (Miss You 3000) . “Can’t wait to see all of you at my first concert in Malaysia. Melly is scheduled to appear as a guest performer at M. Nasir’s “Cipta 4” concert, which will take place on July 4 at Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil here. The Gantung singer also hopes to work with Malaysian vocalist Aina Abdul. Melly also said the true strength of a song lies in the honesty of its emotions and the creative process behind it, rather than relying solely on marketing strategies. She said songs created spontaneously often carry an element of surprise, making them more engaging and refreshing. “When I write songs, I tend to be spontaneous. When two different perspectives come together, the result is usually more interesting because there is an element of surprise in the work. “Creative freedom that is not overly bound by industry formulas also allows artistes to experiment and explore new ideas,” she said. catalogue that continues to resonate with listeners. Scheduled to take place on Aug 1 at Unifi Arena, the concert marks the band’s first major show since its 2019 reunion performances in Shah Alam and Singapore. The lineup will see Ajai, Shah, Ujang, Along and Musa performing alongside former frontmen Mamat Exists and Ezad Lazim, a combination that reflects different phases of the band’s journey.
