Final first for KCFC KUCHING CITY FC (KCFC) has reached a historic milestone when they qualified for the Malaysia Cup final for the very first time after beating Selangor FC on a 2-1 aggregate when they won 1-0 in the second semifinal leg at State Stadium on Saturday. Pandelela not ready to retire NATIONAL diving queen Datuk Pandelela Rinong has no plans to retire from the sport anytime soon as she hopes to continue contributing to the coun try. She said her current focus is to qualify for the 2026 Asian Games, scheduled to take place from Sept 19 to Oct 4. “Not yet (retiring). Right now, my focus is to keep diving. My target is to qualify for the Asian Games,” she said when met after the National Diving Trials Championship at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil yesterday. Pandelela expressed satisfaction with her per formance at the trials.

She said the injury that had previously trou bled her is now well under control, allowing her to perform better. “The first dive was the most difficult and chal lenging for me, but I’m grateful for my overall per formance today as I managed to surpass the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS),” she said. Pandelela lived up to expectations by winning the women’s individual 10-metre platform event after scoring a total of 292.05 points from five dives, surpassing the MQS set by Malaysia Aquatics. The second and third places were secured by fellow national divers Nur Eilisha Rania Muhammad Abrar (283.15) and Lee Yiat Qin (266.8) respectively. Diver Elvis relieved to surpass 400-point mark NATIONAL diver Elvis Priestly Anak Clement expressed relief after scoring above 400 points again in the men’s 10-metre platform event at the National Diving Trials Championship at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil yesterday. He said the score has, to some extent, boosted his confidence as he is still recovering from a spi nal injury. “At the moment I am still trying to regain my confidence, and I can say my performance today was not at 100 per cent. “After this, I will try to give my best and regain the confidence I had lost previously,” he said when met after the competition. Elvis also hopes that his current performance can be maintained to improve his chances of quali fying for the 2026 Asian Games in September. The Sarawak-born diver topped the men’s 10m platform event after amassing a total of 412.90 points from six dives. The score also surpassed the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) of 380 set by Malaysia Aquatics for the event. Also surpassing the MQS at the meet were Muhd Anilrian Normatrud Abdullah and Bertrand Rhodict Lises, who collected 403.5 and 393.15 points respectively to finish second and third.
