Git it up for Exo o K-pop powerhouse returns to Malaysia
S HIMMY, shimmy ko ko bop your way to the National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur this June 20 because Exo is landing in Malaysia for a long-awaited concert since its 2019 sold-out tour. Ready to set the Tempo for Malaysian Exo-Ls (fandom name), Exo Planet #6 – EXhOrizon is inspired by the horizon where the sky meets the earth, symbolising new beginnings and an infinite future. The tour coincides with the drop of Reverxe , the K-pop powerhouse’s eighth full-length. Fans can expect a nostalgic, spectacular setlist from Exo’s current to its era-defining hits such as Growl , Monster , Ko Ko Bop , Tempo and Love Shot . The tour kicks off at the KSPO Dome in Seoul before sweeping across major Asian hubs. The Kuala Lumpur stop will feature electrifying choreography and smooth vocals that have earned the group its awards at the Mnet MALAYSIAN’S street dance scene will send two representatives to the regional stage in Singapore on April 25 after the Red Bull Dance Your Style Asia Tour stop in Kuala Lumpur named its local wildcards. Lim Yeow Hwee, also known as Marcus, 26, and Kayllash Thiagarajan, 19, were selected to represent the country. The Singapore finals will see the Malaysian duo compete against dancers from across Southeast Asia, including Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Vietnam and Singapore. Winners will progress to the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Zurich, Switzerland, scheduled for October. The recent Red Bull Dance Your Style Asia Tour stop in Kuala Lumpur marked the tour’s first stop in Malaysia, bringing international dancers Majid, Waackxxxy, Poppin’ C and The D Soraki to the city for workshops and live showcases. Beyond performances, the visiting dancers explored local culture, including a visit to Batu Caves and a session learning the traditional Mak Yong dance alongside representatives from the National Department for Culture and Arts.

Two Malaysians head to regional finals, facing Southeast Asia’s top dancers

ASTRO is marking Tamil New Year ( puthandu ) with a curated line-up of festive programming, bringing together local and international content for Malaysian audiences to enjoy across TV, Astro Go, On Demand and Sooka. Observed as a time of renewal and reflection, the new year signifies fresh beginnings within the Tamil community, often centred on family, tradition and shared experiences. In line with this, Astro’s festive slate aims to bring households together through a mix of entertainment spanning telemovies, talk shows, magazine programmes and films. On the local front, it is presenting a series of Tamil premieres on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202), including telemovie Azhaikkaamal Vanthaai , directed by Aidilfitri Mohamed Yunos. The story follows a man who creates an AI-powered companion, only for the situation to spiral when the creation develops emotional
awareness, blurring the line between technology and human relationships. Azhaikkaamal Vanthaai premieres on April 18. It has also premiered Rasipalan Chithirai Special , an vedic astrology-based programme offering insights for all 12 zodiac signs, and Sanjigai New Year Special , a magazine show exploring the cultural significance of Tamil New Year earlier this week. On the international front, a range of Tamil programmes is airing on Astro Vinmeen, including a talk show centred on historical themes, a tribute to veteran filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj, as well as film and music showcases. Viewers can also tune in to Hindi titles on Zee Cinema (Ch 251), including Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Singh Saab the Great . Meanwhile, Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201) features Malayalam films such as Marakkar and Aavesham .
