Gayong 2 is set to hit cinemas on Thursday, marking the latest major project for actor Beto Kusyairi, who reprises his leading role. Reuniting with his co-star, the talented Nabila Huda, in a story inspired by the remarkable life journey of the founder of Pertubuhan Silat Seni Gayong Malaysia, Beto admitted that the new instalment came with its own set of challenges. While he previously struggled with self-confidence in portraying the legendary silat grandmaster, the late Datuk Meor Abdul Rahman, in the first film, this time the biggest hurdle for Beto and the entire team was the lack of rest due to the tight production schedule. “We were already exhausted after shooting the first part Gayong . We only had a short break before jumping straight back into filming ( Gayong 2 ). So it wasn’t just the actors but the entire crew was feeling it. “But our strong sense of teamwork, like a family, helped us push through. We were all committed to making this the best it could be, and whatever challenges came our way, we faced them together,” he said. Speaking after the premiere screening of Gayong 2 in Kuala Lumpur recently, Beto, whose full name is Nurkusyairy Zakuan, said beyond teamwork, they also THE Music Run by Affin has announced that national songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza will perform live at the event held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on April 18.
