G.E.M. brings world tour to M’sia in June The concert title is derived from G.E.M.’s birth name ‘Gloria’, symbolising a return to her roots.

MALAYSIA–THAILAND horror thriller Kong Tao has recorded RM1 million in ticket sales last Friday just one day after its nationwide release, making it the fastest local Chinese-language black magic themed film in Malaysian history to cross the million mark. The movie stars Malaysian actors Bront Palarae, Yumi Wong and Eric Lay, as well as Hong Kong actor Philip Keung, Thai actress Kao Supassara Thanachat, Singapore actors Glenn Yong and Mayiduo. Prior to its official release, Kong Tao held premiere events in Penang and the Klang Valley, where the entire cast walked the red carpet to meet fans. Following the premieres, the cast continued their promotional tour with media interviews, visiting cinemas and shopping malls across the Klang Valley for meet-and-greet sessions with fans. The story revolves around a mysterious mass black magic incident involving students. Thai
journalist Fon investigates the decades-old case and encounters four YouTubers – Chenxin, Wei Kang, Potato and Weien – who travelled to Thailand for paranormal exploration. After returning home, they begin experiencing terrifying supernatural events, with Wei Kang eventually dying under mysterious circumstances. Directed by Peiji Goh ( The Locksmith ) and cinematographer turned-director Yong Choon Lin ( Paskal ) and produced by CH Chiah, the film brings together talents from Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Presented by Mega Films Distribution, the film is co-produced by Distinct Entertainment, de Kangaroo Pictures, Amphibia Films, King Kong Media Production, Clover Films, Think Media and Sing Lian Ping, with support from Malaysia’s Communications Ministry and the National Film Development Corporation.

Gayong 2 releases on April 9 LOCAL film Gayong 2 will be released in cinemas on April 9 on the heels of last year’s first film, which grossed over RM4 million. In a recent statement, Media Prima Content & TV Networks said the film is expected to be presented on a larger scale with a more in depth storyline and thrilling action. According to the company, in the first film, the audience was taken on a journey into the early life of the Silat Gayong founder, the late Datuk Meor Abdul Rahman, from Perak, in defending honour, heritage and identity through the art of silat.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale on April 3.
