Festive conversations o Amira Othman’s first Raya after marriage inspires new song, duet with younger brother
the song’s launch. According to Amira, her first experience celebrating Aidilfitri as a married woman also inspired the concept of the song, which revolves around the familiar situation of married couples discussing which hometown they will visit for the festive celebration. “In the past, I celebrated Raya in Johor. But now that I am married, my husband and I definitely have to talk about it first. This song always makes me smile whenever I hear it,” said Amira, who will be celebrating Aidilfitri in Kuala Lumpur with Fattah’s family. She added that although the song’s lyrics are associated with married couples, she chose to retain the duet concept with her brother as a unique twist compared with the usual Raya songs. “Many people say the song would be more suitable for a husband and wife, but we purposely wanted to do something different. Irfan often asked me when I would release a Raya song, so I thought why not do it together,” she said. The music video for the song was directed by Fattah together with Khalid Nadzri. The single, released by Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia, was produced by Irfan alongside Haiqal Iskandar, Syazriq and Omar K, blending modern pop Raya elements with a classic touch through the use of instruments such as the flute. Irfan, who also wrote the song, said Bincang Raya was recorded in early February before moving on to mixing and mastering for release on digital platforms. – Bernama

Aliff Syukri regrets not spending more time with dad DESPITE building a successful business empire and gaining popularity on social media, not many people know that entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri carries a deep regret in his life that can never be undone. “That is the thing I regret the most after he died suddenly at the age of 59,” he told reporters after the premiere of the D’Herbs Raya brand film Ya, Abah Saya Security recently. began to realise that it was that money that raised me,” he said, describing his late father as a very kind man and among the earliest people who witnessed his journey from humble beginnings.
Shahida on raising children with dyslexia THE experience of raising two children with dyslexia has opened the eyes of celebrity entrepreneur Datin Seri Nur Shahida Mohd Rashid to the importance of proper therapy and suitable learning methods in helping children overcome the condition. She said two of her children Qadejah El Zahra, 16, and Ibraheem Adam, 14, who were previously diagnosed with dyslexia have shown encouraging progress after undergoing therapy and following learning approaches tailored to their needs. “Although I felt quite down when Qadejah was first diagnosed, seeing her positive progress made me more prepared afterwards. In fact, children with dyslexia are not disabled, they simply learn differently from others. If they receive the right therapy and attend the right school, they will be fine. For example, Qadejah could not read even in year one, but now she is doing very well academically,”she told reporters after the premiere of D’Herbs’ Raya brand film Ya, Abah Saya Security . Her fourth child Yusof Al Qardawi has now also been diagnosed with dyslexia at eight as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and has been undergoing therapy since early last year. Shahida, who is married to businessman and social media influencer Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman, said she initially did not expect Yusof to face the same challenges, but began noticing differences in his behaviour from an early age. She said when Yusof was between one and two years old, he was already extremely hyperactive, and at the age of five, he climbed out through the window and sat on the roof of their house because he wanted to become a “superhero”. Shahida advised parents not to dismiss the possibility that their children may have dyslexia or ADHD and to seek professional help as early as possible if they notice any signs of these conditions. – Bernama
Inspired by that experience and hoping it can serve as a reminder for others to appreciate their loved ones while they are still around, the father of six produced the short film Ya, Abah Saya Security , which is inspired by the true story of his life with his late father. The short film, produced in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, was launched last week on all social media platforms owned by the millionaire entrepreneur. It carries a message encouraging children to appreciate the sacrifices of their parents and not to feel ashamed of their jobs, even if they are not from white-collar professions. “I came from a poor family, so I know the value of money – even RM1. That is why I worked day and night to change my family’s life. In the past, I was embarrassed by my father’s job as a security guard. But when I grew older, I
Produced by his company D’Herbs, in collaboration with Tangerine Pictures, the short film directed by Bobby Husaini and Bahri Umar features several well-known actors, including Mikael Noah alongside Azhan Rani, Megat Sharizal Mohamed Yusoff and Niezam Zaidi. According to Bobby, Aliff’s honesty in sharing his life experience became the main strength of the production, which he described as being born from a true story filled with emotion and reflection. “We were moved ourselves when we heard him tell the story. It was very honest and came from the heart. When he spoke about regret and the sense of loss after his father’s death – that is where the strength of this story lies – something that can touch people,” he said. – Bernama
Not having had the chance to spend enough time with his late father Kamaruzaman Kamaludin, who passed away due to complications involving heart problems and fluid in the lungs, the regret continues to linger for Aliff even though more than five years have passed since the loss of his beloved parent. The well-known 39-year-old entrepreneur said this happened when his business was expanding rapidly, causing most of his time and energy to be focused on work, which meant he was rarely by his father’s side. “Although my late father managed to enjoy some comfort from the fruits of my labour, I actually regret that when he was still alive, I was too busy with my business. I only gave him money and asked my assistant to take care of his needs, but we hardly spent time together.
