THE Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) wants to ensure there will be no logistics prob lems during the country’s host ing of the 2027 SEA Games, considering that it will be held in four states – Sarawak, Penang, Johor and Kuala Lumpur. Its minister, Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said that although this will be among the biggest challenges in organising the Games, KBS will ensure it will be well-coordinated. “A series of discussions with the Secretariat of the Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (Masoc) 2027 have been held, and they are also

BUNDESLIGA: Augsburg 2 Cologne 0. FRENCH LIGUE 1: Strasbourg 1 Lens 1.
SUPER LEAGUE leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) continued to strengthen their grip at the top of the standings by maintaining their unbeaten record, defeating Penang FC 4-0 at the City Stadium in George Town on Friday night. The Southern Tigers needed only six minutes to open the scoring through Brazilian import Marcos Guilherme, who cleverly evaded the home side’s defence before beating goalkeeper Mohd Ramdhan Ab Hamid. The visiting team doubled their pressure and managed to add a second goal in the 34th minute through a pow erful strike by Bergson Da Silva, who received a neat pass from Oscar Arribas. As the second half resumed, Bergson again proved his clinical form by netting the third goal of the match for JDT in the 68th minute, before Arribas capped off a glorious night for JDT with a fourth goal via a long-range shot during injury time. Meanwhile, Terengganu FC’s (TFC) hopes of collecting full points at home were dashed as they suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City FC) at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Kuala Nerus. TFC goalkeeper Suhaimi Husin, returning to action after a long break, initially stood firm in defending the goal against early attempts by Dmytro Lytvyn and Paolo Josue. However, a lapse in the home team’s defence in the 62nd minute proved costly when Antonio Gomes unleashed a low drive that hit the back of the net, securing a valuable victory for the City boys. Turtles acting head coach Tengku Hazman Raja Hassan admitted to being disappointed with his team’s performance and said the players were still repeating the same mistakes by conceding easy goals. “I have told the players that if we play against an experienced and strong team like KL City FC, we cannot make easy mistakes because it will result in us being punished with a goal,” he said after the match. “We defended well before that. But making the same mistake over and JDT tighten grip on league title, no home comfort for Turtles

every game is important. It might be a big stress for everybody. But I think our players did a good job tonight. It’s not easy to play a beautiful game in everytime,” he said. over again caused us to lose three points in the match.” Tengku Hazman, however, said his team was still on the right track to fin ish this season in the top five of the league as targeted at the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, the City Boys coach Risto Vidakovic said that despite the narrow win, he was satisfied with the fighting spirit shown by his men. According to him, the victory allowed KL City FC to continue com peting with Selangor FC for the Super League runner-up spot this season. “The three points are very impor tant to us. If we lose today, maybe our chances to fight for a second place would be much lower. “So I think our players know that as we approach the end of the season,
