Shot entirely on the Vivo X300 Pro, the film portrays a familiar dynamic, with Jordan Voon Sow-Peng and Alving Zhang Xiao Zi as the cast, within many Chinese families, where love is rarely spoken directly but deeply felt through everyday actions. It explores the emotional distance between generations and how simple expressions can bridge that gap. Technology, in this context, becomes a tool for connection. With the film, Vivo Malaysia also launched the “Let Love Be Spoken”, which is an online photography contest from Feb 12 to 28. This initiative encourages Malaysians to capture meaningful moments of love using their smartphones and share the stories behind them. It extends the message of the film into real life, inviting you to create your own heartfelt narrative through photography. You can watch the film on Vivo’s Instagram. Ambank’s Chinese New Year brand film is inspired by the timeless Bai Jia Bei (Hundred Family Quilt), bringing to life its enduring belief that “Tradition lives on when build together”. At the centre of the film is the powerful symbolism of the Bai Jia Bei , a quilt lovingly stitched together from fabric pieces contributed by many families. Each patch carries blessing, hopes and a touch of love. Over time, it becomes more than a blanket, it represents a community coming together to protect and nurture the next generation. The tradition serves as a meaningful metaphor for how progress, legacy and shared prosperity are built, not by one, but by many. The short film draws parallels between the communal effort behind a Bai Jia Bei quilt, which is made up of different fabrics stitched together, and the way tradition is sustained through collective care. You can watch the film on YouTube. Hundred Families Quilt Release date: Now showing
