The Formless Flow: Between Stillness and Becoming Date: Until Feb 14 Time: 11am–5pm Venue: Hall 2, G13 Gallery Entry fee: Free entry A solo exhibition by Hug Yin Wan that reflects on impermanence and the subtle passage of time through material-based practice. Moving away from representational imagery, the artist works with woodcut and etched zinc, using repetitive carving and controlled corrosion to explore the tension between structure and surrender, control and unpredictability. The works invite viewers to slow down and experience movement within stillness, with mirrors embedded in selected pieces reflecting the surrounding space and the viewer’s presence. The exhibition continues Hug’s ongoing exploration of time, transformation and the space between form and formlessness.

A solo exhibition by Nik M Shazmie, inspired by his UOB Painting of the Year 2025 winning work and reflecting on Malaysia as a shared home shaped by coexistence, resilience and imperfection. Drawing from brutalist architecture, the tactile qualities of clay and the jagged form of durian, the exhibition uses cracks, dents and textures as metaphors for growth through time rather than flaw. The works trace a process that moves from durian shells and digital 3D models to clay sculpture, photography and painting, allowing material weight and imperfection to carry across mediums.

Set in a city tightening under authoritarian rule, the production traces everyday lives shaped by surveillance, softened language and quiet compromises, where survival and resistance blur. Staged in an intimate, media-rich environment, the performance unfolds through modular vignettes that mirror algorithm-driven feeds. Featuring an ensemble cast with immersive lighting and projections, the play reflects on power, empathy and the ordinary choices people make under pressure. The 80-minute production runs without intermission and is recommended for mature audiences.
Naraksha Date: Feb 21–22 Time: 8.30pm Venue : Auditorium A, Level 5, Komtar Entry fee: RM25 A Malaysian Tamil theatre production that brings youth mental health, cyberbullying and family pressure to the stage through an intimate psychological drama. Written and directed by Liishvaar Jagathes Kumar, the production follows a teenage girl torn between her dream of becoming a Bharatanatyam dancer and strict parental control, while facing isolation and online abuse. Blending Bharatanatyam with contemporary theatre, the performance uses minimal staging to focus on emotional tension and internal conflict, offering a rare local Tamil perspective on issues often left unspoken. Performed in Tamil with English surtitles, Naraksha is produced by Kalindra Dramatari in collaboration with STArts.co and is staged in Penang for two nights only.
