Sakura Bloom line is more than just wearable art, but it is a show of meticulous transition through fabric choice, construction and silhouette rather than overt festive symbolism. Founded in 2010, Maglifestyle evolved from its beginnings as Magazine Boutique in Bangsar into a ready-to-wear label shaped by cultural observation and contemporary lifestyles. In Sakura Bloom, the brand continues to explore how traditional references can be adapted through fabric innovation and modern construction. Drawing loosely from the fleeting nature of cherry blossoms between winter and spring, the line centres on movement, restraint and adaptability in contemporary Chinese-inspired dressing. Instead of anchoring the range to a single motif, Sakura Bloom approaches design as a progression. Stillness gives way to fluidity through relaxed A-line shapes, cocoon silhouettes and softly structured forms that prioritise ease of wear. The pieces are designed to sit comfortably between everyday and occasion dressing, reflecting a modern approach to femininity that is understated and intentional. A recurring material is cherry blossom jacquard, developed in muted pink tones with woven floral and vine motifs that add texture without visual excess. The water-soluble lace is used sparingly and as part of the garment’s construction rather than as added decoration. This contrast reflects the collection’s wider balance between structure and softness,

concerns such as pockets. The Xinyan Brocade Dress features a floral brocade in an A-line mini silhouette with puff sleeves, finished with
a and pankou buttons, to reflect a youthful essence. Other pieces lean into minimal adaptation. The Li Mei Feather Dress is a brocade mini, drawing inspiration directly from the classic Chinese design while its clean seams give a contemporary feel. Across the collection, pastel shades are paired with gently defined waists and fluid lines that allow movement, reinforcing themes of continuity and growth. The Li Ying Qipao offers a more textural interpretation of the cheongsam with a flower collage on tulle mesh lace – the A-line silhouette departs from the traditional fitted cut, introducing softness through a subtle keyhole neckline and short sleeves. The resulting 3D floral effect adds dimension while maintaining a restrained palette. “Our take here is that rather than relying on spectacle, the Lunar ’26 collection focuses on how material, cut and proportion come together to create garments that feel considered and adaptable. Sakura Bloom positions festive dressing as something quieter and more fluid, shaped by texture and form rather than ornament alone.” mandarin collar
