The two day programme introduces participants to the spirit of a Raleigh Expedition through team challenges, leadership activities and community minded learning. Irama Asli dan Asal 2025 (Indigenous Rhythms Festival) Date: Dec 12-14 Time: 10am-10pm Venue: Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur Entry fee: Free The Indigenous Rhythms Festival returns to celebrate the cultural traditions, music and crafts of Malaysia’s diverse indigenous communities. The three-day event highlights heritage preservation through performances, workshops and creative showcases led by Orang Asal and Orang Asli artists. Visitors can explore cultural exhibitions and discover the stories behind traditional practices, while supporting the communities that keep these art forms alive.
The Infinite-land (Penang) Date: Dec 6-29 Time: 12pm-7pm (Thu–Mon) Venue: Blank Canvas, George Town, Penang Entry fee: RM15 Hong Kong artist Sim Chan presents new works inspired by local culture, crafted with the help of Penang residents, bringing his acclaimed Infinite-land series to Malaysia for the first time. The exhibition features three immersive series of miniature light sculptures, moving installations and contemplative light paintings arranged like a playful theme park. Visitors can also try interactive claw and gacha machines for a chance to win pieces of the artwork, contributing to the experience with a nostalgic, hands on element. The show offers a unique reflection on urban life through intricate, dreamlike worlds.
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Ballet Festival Date: Dec 5–7 (Swan Lake), Dec 12, 13, 2025 (The Nutcracker) Time: 8pm Venue: Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), Petronas Twin Towers Entry fee: RM329–RM699 This festival will feature the beautiful artistry of the National Classical Ballet of Moscow while Russian conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky returns to the DFP podium, with MPO to weave magic. In the first of a two-weekend festival, the MPO will present Swan Lake , renowned for its enduring reputation as the world’s most popular ballet with its central mysterious character, tragic romanticism of a great love and undeniably Tchaikovsky’s score. Next, embark on a world of fairytale magic set amid a snowy landscape on Christmas with the MPO in The Nutcracker on Dec 12 and 13, a showcase that will stir imagination in every soul. The Nutcracker was premiered at Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, Moscow in 1891. Its score is renowned for its highest quality, thoroughly inspired in its atmospherics, richly laced with memorable tunes and imbued with colourful orchestration that fans do not want to miss!
Japanese Film Festival Theatre Free Streaming Season 2025–2026 Streaming period: Until Feb 3, 2026 Time: Available online 24 hours Platform: JFF Theatre Entry fee: Free with registration JFF Theatre returns with eight Japanese films themed around school life and food as a source of healing and connection. Viewers can stream all titles for free with multilingual subtitles and discover stories ranging from heartfelt culinary dramas to youth romance. Malaysian audiences can also stand a chance to win exclusive merchandise by watching at least three films and joining a special quiz. Throughout the four month programme, the lineup offers an accessible way to explore Japanese cinema from home.
Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026) Date: June 12-21, 2026
Time: 10am-8pm (weekdays), 10am-10pm (Fri–Sun and public holidays) Venue: Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur Entry fee: Weekdays free, weekends RM25 (adults), RM10 (teens and students), children 12 and below free KLIMS 2026 returns with its theme Beyond Mobility, spotlighting electric vehicles, next- generation transport technologies, and alternative energy. Spread across eight halls, the 10 day show will feature car launches, live demos, esports racing, test drives and activities for the community. With organisers targeting up to 300,000 visitors, more than 20 international and local brands are set to participate.
Hard Rock Collectors Showcase 2026 Date: Aug 16, 2026 Time: 10am to 6pm Venue: Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, Johor Entry fee: Free Malaysia’s largest Hard Rock collectors event returns with nearly 13,000 memorabilia pieces, a new limited edition anniversary pin, and international participants. The showcase features a curated pop up gallery of vintage items, live collector stories and blind pin trading. The event features expanded activities and celebrates the international Hard Rock collecting community with a full reunion.
Move with Maxis Date: Dec 13 –14, 2025 Time: 6.30am–9am (morning session), 4pm– 6.30pm (evening session) Maxis invites the public to join Move with Maxis, a series of fitness activities taking place at KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur. Rooted in Maxis’ belief that “Tomorrow Begins Today”, the event encourages Malaysians to take small steps today that can lead to a better future – whether in fitness, learning, or personal growth.
