Vir Das set for KL performance COMEDIAN Vir Das is set to return to Kuala Lumpur next year with his new tour Hey Stranger on May 23 at Plenary Hall, KL Convention Centre. Bringing his blend of humour, cultural insight and unfiltered honesty, fans can expect a night full of bold jokes, unexpected twists and his ability to turn everyday chaos into comedy gold. A comedian, actor and a global presence in stand-up, Vir’s recent Netflix comedy special Fool Volume has earned praise, with the previous special 2023’s Landing clinching him the International Emmy Award for Best Comedy. He also added a new notch to his belt as an author, following the release of his book The Outsider early last month. Beyond stand-up, Vir has created, produced and starred in multiple projects, including the ABC drama-comedy Whiskey Cavalier , Netflix thriller Hasmukh and Amazon’s travel series Jestination Unknown . He has also appeared in Judd Apatow’s Netflix feature The Bubble and is developing several new film and TV projects. ZOOTOPIA 2 has generated over US$8 million (RM33 million) in Southeast Asia to date, with Malaysia (RM8.26 million) and Thailand (RM7 million) leading the regional charge, opening at first place in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Slithering straight to the top of the global box office, Zootopia 2 raked in a record-breaking US$556 million in its opening weekend, clinching the highest global debut of 2025, the fourth highest global opening of all-time and the highest global opening for any animated film in Disney history. “We are thrilled by the success of Zootopia 2 across Southeast Asia.
