ISLAMIC AI ... Zetrix AI Bhd is collaborating with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) to develop a framework for syariah compliance, certification and governance in artificial intelligence (AI) and a platform to help Jakim issue rulings, halal certifications and advice. They also aim to set global standards for Islamic AI. CAPITAL MARKET COOPERATION ... The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the Sultanate of Oman signed a two-year Joint Programme for Capital Market Development Cooperation aimed at promoting resilient, transparent, and innovative capital markets. It was signed by SC chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi (left) and Oman FSA executive president Abdullah Salim Al-Salmi in Muscat on Sept 10.

FINANCING SUPPORT ... AmBank Group is providing financing facilities to Armani Hallson KLCC Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Armani Group, for Phase 1 of Armani Hallson KLCC - a premier residential project with gross development value of RM3 billion in Kuala Lumpur which was officially launched in August. MAIDEN WIN ... AIA Public Takaful Bhd was named ‘Best Takaful Company’ at the prestigious Global Islamic Finance Awards 2025 (GIFA 2025). The accolade marks the company’s first win at GIFA, a milestone that reflects its growing influence in the takaful landscape. AIA Public Takaful CEO Mohd Asri Omar (right) received the award on behalf of the company at a ceremony held on Sept 11 in Kuala Lumpur.

SMART GROCERY WAREHOUSE ... Jaya Grocer, Malaysia’s leading homegrown grocery retailer, is investing more than RM100 million in a new automated warehouse in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, that will introduce smarter technology and higher-skilled roles. The investment marks the company’s largest step into supply chain automation and is the first of its kind in Malaysia’s grocery retail sector.
