Recognition at Asean level

M ANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) was honoured as ASEAN’s Most Transformative and Impactful TVET University at the 4th edition of the Malaysian Education and TVET Awards (META) 2025. The recognition was presented during META 2025, which celebrates excellence, sustainability and innovation in Malaysia’s education and TVET sectors. Organised by “Education + TVET Asia” publications, this year’s awards carried the theme “From the Industry, By the Industry, For the Industry”, celebrating excellence in education, technical and vocational training (TVET), and service provision across Malaysia. The award criteria included leadership, productivity, innovation, sustainability, brand excellence, programme and service quality, product excellence and performance in new start-ups. The 2025 edition was officiated by Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, Deputy Minister of Higher Education. The accolade was presented to Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, the president and founder of MSU, along with Dato’ Rosli Yusof, the senior vice-president for endowment and communication; Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Ghazali, the senior vice-president for Industry Linkages & Entrepreneurship; Norizah Said, the vice-president for media and strategic communication; Dr. Zubaidah Aman, the vice- president for External Engagement; Professor Dr. Adam Amril Jaharadak, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE); Azizul Jamaludin, the dean of the school of hospitality and creative Arts (SHCA); and Siti Amzidalina Ghazali, the director of MSU Academy. The event also featured a forum titled “Skills for the Future, Smarter Pathways: Innovating Education & TVET for a Changing World.” Dr Shukri was invited to share his insights on the evolving demands of Industry Revolution 4.0, the repositioning of TVET as a preferred educational pathway, and the significance of academic-industry collaboration. MSU continues to stand out for its strong industry partnerships and job-guarantee initiatives reinforcing its position as a premier model of high-end TVET education. Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chairman of the National TVET Council, launched four new high-end TVET programmes at MSU, two each at the FISE and SHCA: Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security, Bachelor in Game Development (Honours), Bachelor in Hotel Management (Honours), and Bachelor in Culinary Management (Honours). Beginning from September 2025, these four year programmes will integrate two years of structured Work-Based Learning (WBL) with established industry partners, equipping students with future-ready skills to thrive in the digital and global economy. technical and vocational education and training (TVET) with academic learning, offering programmes that combine industry internships, community engagement, creative entrepreneurship, and global exposure. Initiatives such as Graduate Employability Skills (GEmS) and Personal Enrichment Competencies (PEC) enhance students’ soft skills, while over 500 global partnerships in 40+ countries and collaborations with more than 3,000 industry partners offer extensive opportunities for study, internships, and international exposure.
