Pop singer Ruel’s new single ventures into The Suburbs
Poignant take on heartbreak SINGAPOREAN singer-songwriter and producer Shye returns with her newest single All at Once , a hauntingly atmospheric track that captures the quiet devastation of heartbreak. A continuation of the narrative explored in her previous single Waited For You , the song deepens the emotional storyline, moving from longing to the silent ache of acceptance. Where Waited For You explored the ache of longing for someone who never truly arrives, All at Once moves into the aftermath. “The song sings about being haunted by the memories of a person who has moved on, while you are still stuck in the echoes of what was,” Shye explained. Anchored by the repeated plea “Come back to me”, the song lives in that emotional loop of trying to feel okay when deep down, you are unravelling. “It is the kind of grief that seeps into everything around you – where you start to see the one you lost in everything and everyone. When you know it is over and you have to move on, but it is easier said than done.” Following her recent releases, Cecilia and Waited For You , the new song marks a shift into softer, dreamier territory – tender and emotionally unflinching. Sonically, Shye trades the weightier soundscapes of her earlier releases for a more atmospheric palette, built around dreamy guitar textures and unfiltered lyricism. All at Once feels like a soft sigh of the heart – tender, haunting and just a little bit broken. On the emotional core of the song, Shye shared: “The inspiration came from that strange emotional space where everything still reminds you of someone, even after they are gone. When you are in love, your world becomes shaped around that person and once they leave, you are left with the shadows of what used to be.” Through words and instrumentation, she captures the quiet ache of trying to move forward while piecing together the fragments of a heart still healing – peaceful on the surface, yet full of emotional unrest beneath. All At Once is available for streaming.
o Artiste plans to release sophomore album on Oct 17 A USTRALIAN pop artiste Ruel has dropped his new single The Suburbs , alongside two unreleased tracks. Accompanying the single was the announcement that Ruel would be releasing his sophomore album Kicking My Feet on Oct 17. Written by Ruel with collaborators Fran Hall, M-Phazes, Chelsea Lena and Elias Danielsen, The Suburbs is an ode to intimacy and imagining a simpler life with a loved one. With lyrics such as “I can see us in the Suburbs/Never thought I’d be that person/But with you it sounds like paradise,” Ruel taps into a soft vulnerability that builds on the expansive pop vision he introduced with his previous single, I Can Die Now . “It has been pretty daunting to offer up this level of honesty in my songwriting but seeing the way it is already connected so personally with fans has calmed my ‘pre-album’ nerves in a huge way,” Ruel revealed. Released just a month ago, I Can Die Now set the stage for Kicking My Feet in a big way. Premiering in New York’s Times Square on MTV, the track hit over a million streams in just a few days. The upcoming album will mark the start of a new era for the singer, where Ruel is more creatively liberated, emotionally nuanced and sonically bolder than ever. After relocating from Sydney to Los Angeles and signing with Giant Music, Ruel immersed himself in a new creative ecosystem and began building the album from the ground up.

Fike, Ed Sheeran), Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton) and longtime collaborator M-Phazes. Together, they crafted a record that is adventurous and deeply personal, blending pop, alt and R&B into a cohesive, modern sound. The result is a genre-blurring, emotionally relatable album that reflects Ruel’s evolution as a person and an artiste.
“I knew I wanted to push myself on this new album, but it was not until I had to finalise the track list that I realised I had actually made over 200 songs for Kicking My Feet .” He worked closely with some of the industry’s most celebrated and genre-shaping producers, including Julian Bunetta (Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction), Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams), Kenny Beats (Dominic
Charlie Burg returns with chill-pop tune Reach AFTER his third studio album, American singer-songwriter Charlie Burg makes a comeback with his latest single Reach , marking his third release this year. Originally written during the pandemic, Reach has the familiar chill-pop sensibility, with a new elevated pop-electronic sound that reflects this time in Burg’s life. Feeling more secure in himself than ever before, Burg captures this new chapter in his music – honest, self-assured and sonically more ambitious.
Last month, the artiste released the introspective track Upon Arrival, a song with a journey of its own. Originally written in 2020, it underwent two attempted rearrangements in 2023 and a new set of lyrics in 2024, before ultimately reverting to the raw demo version. The final cut captures a sense of unfiltered honesty, and the title itself serves as a metaphor for his reemergence: returning to releasing music, reconnecting with his audience and rediscovering a deeper sense of self. With a sound rooted in indie pop, neo-soul and alternative R&B, Burg has carved a unique space for himself as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Known for his warm falsetto, poetic lyricism and genre-blending arrangements, he quickly built a reputation as a rising voice in alternative music. He made his debut in 2015 with the mixtape Blue Wave Mosaic , hitting his stride with a string of singles and EPs that followed. It culminated in his first full-length album Infinitely Tall (2022) – co-produced by Mike Malchicoff (King Princess, Kanye West, Del Water Gap) – which showcased his emotional depth and sonic versatility.

Since his first release, Burg has amassed over 300 million career streams and currently draws 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
