In a post on its Facebook page yesterday, the Malaysian Embassy in Washington said Muhammad Shahrul presented his Letter of Credence to Trump during the ceremony on July 24, making him the 18th Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the US. “Muhammad Shahrul had the opportunity to briefly exchange pleasantries with Trump, conveying his commitment to further strengthen Malaysia-US bilateral relationship. “He also thanked the president for Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s participation in the recent 48th Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, held in Kuala Lumpur from July 8 to 11.” Muhammad Shahrul is a Foreign Ministry former secretary-general and a veteran diplomat with more than 35 years of service.
