Top of the fashion world

School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) in Malaysia. The course is all about creativity. Even if a person is already into art, this programme pushes you to sharpen your skills professionally. It prepares you to become a fashion designer in the real world. How has MSU supported your studies in Malaysia? As an international student from Bangladesh, I found adjusting to life in Malaysia to be difficult at first. The culture, lifestyle and way of life was different. It took me around six months to really settle in. What makes your content stand out on social media? Before coming to Malaysia, I did not have a plan and little guidance. But now things feel more professional. I have learnt how to manage time, people and tasks all at once. Yes, it can get overwhelming, but I am growing. If you want to be a digital content creator, the most important thing is to stay focused on your goals. Know what you want because that’s the first step to achieving your goals. What type of content do you enjoy creating the most? I love singing, dancing, putting on makeup, and of course, fashion! But fashion is not just about clothes. It includes shoes, accessories, makeup, nails and the whole image. I also love dancing, and through dance I found my own path, especially on platforms like TikTok,

M AHETAZ Akter Sinthia or Sinthia as she is fondly known to her friends from Bangladesh, is stand ing out, both on campus at Management and Science University (MSU) and on social media. With a passion for fashion, dance and all things creative, Sinthia is on a mission to turn her dreams into reality, one post at a time. We sat down with her to chat about life in Malaysia, her journey as a content creator, and how she is navigating the fashion world with style and creativity. What inspired you to start creating content? I enjoyed watching influencers such as Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and ‘Doja Cat’. They were my fashion icons who always wore amazing outfits on stage and on runways. I remember thinking, “ I want to follow their footsteps .” That moment inspired me to pursue fashion. It’s been my passion ever since. What is your choice of programme at MSU? I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor in Fashion Design with Marketing (Hons)under the o MSU supports international student in her fashion aspirations

What similarities do you see between fashion in Malaysia and Bangladesh? Both countries have great fashion sense, but the climate is very different. The fashion here should focus more on breathable, summer friendly designs. In Bangladesh, we have six seasons which brings more variety to fashion choices. I think both countries can explore bold, colourful designs with more emphasis on shorts, jeans and tee-shirts that match the climate while staying trendy. Have you experienced hate or burnout and how did you handle it? Honestly, yes. I handled it well and with positivity. But people here appreciate my work, my style and even feature me in fashion shows and content.
