Gig to celebrate nationhood o Mark Malaysia Day with Equatorial Love Songs concert

K-POP girl group Kiiras is already making waves in the music scene, landing impressive chart positions in Malaysia just days after its debut. The group’s debut album Kill Ma Bo$$ , clinched the fifth spot on the Malaysian iTunes Top Album Chart upon its release earlier this month. Kiiras is a six-member multinational girl group comprising LingLing (Malaysia’s first K-pop female idol), Kurumi (from Japan), Harin, Kylie, Doyeon and Roah (from South Korea). The group has gained attention not only for its refreshing debut but also for its electrifying live performances on major Korean music programmes. Kill Ma Bo$$ is a genre-blending pop track rooted in country, layered with R&B and hip-hop elements. The song’s modern “Western” twist introduces a fresh sound to the K-pop scene. Lyrically, it delivers a daring message that calls out outdated norms, signalling the group’s intent to break boundaries. Ahead of its debut, Kiiras also turned heads with a visually striking concept teaser for Kill Ma Bo$$ , shared via the group’s official social media platforms. The concept showcases a playful and kitschy cowgirl aesthetic set against a colourful desert backdrop, presenting a bold and refreshing visual identity. In the teaser images, the members balance innocence and mystique, I N honour of Malaysia Day, the Equatorial Love Songs – A Special Malaysia Day Celebration concert is a one-of-a-kind experience that weaves together music, memory and Malaysian identity through the voices of singer-songwriters Rynn Lim, A-Bin (Fang Jiong Bin) and Vchuan Tan. Lobster Boy comes home Prakash brings his solo show to Malaysia.

AFTER captivating audiences across Australia, Malaysia’s very own “bearded funny man” Prakash Daniel is set to bring his solo show Lobster Boy back to his home turf. This multi-city Malaysian tour promises to deliver the same signature blend of street-smart humour, 90s nostalgia and heartwarming storytelling that has resonated with international audiences. Following a successful run in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in April and May this year, Lobster Boy returns to Malaysia to offer local comedy lovers a fresh, hilarious and deeply personal perspective from one of the nation’s most dynamic entertainers. Inspired by his upbringing in the vibrant, sometimes chaotic, neighbourhood of Jalan Udang Galah (Lobster Street) in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Lobster Boy is Prakash’s most intimate and sidesplitting show to date. It delves into his childhood as a Malaysian Indian growing up in a lower middle-class family and his journey of self-acceptance and friendship, trauma and healing, taking audiences on a laugh-out-loud trip down memory lane. “Growing up in the 90s was wild, weird and wonderful. We did not have the internet, but we had pirated VHS tapes, hand-me-down sneakers and neighbourhood drama that could rival any reality show. ‘Lobster Boy’ is my love letter to those days and to everyone who has ever felt like they did not quite fit in,” said Prakash. Prakash’s comedy is deeply rooted in real-life Malaysian experiences – from peculiar encounters at mamak stalls to the universal struggles of Malaysian weddings, family expectations and disappointments. The classic“black sheep”, Prakash masterfully turns these everyday moments into comedic gold, delivering sharp, soulful and universally relatable observations, sometimes at self-deprecating innuendos too. Beyond the mic, Prakash is a visual storyteller, street fashion enthusiast and devoted sneakerhead. Presented by LOL Asia, the multi-city tour hits Penang (Aug 2), Johor Bahru (Aug 9), Kota Kinabalu (date to be announced), Kuala Lumpur (Aug 23) and Kuching (date to be announced).

exuding dual charms of youthful vibrancy and fierce confidence. This contrast is highlighted in the teaser video, where soft, sunlit scenes shift into high-fashion denim looks and intense expressions.
