PERLIS VENTURES ... Berjaya Land Bhd, a prominent Malaysian conglomerate under Berjaya Corporation Bhd, on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with Impianan Utara Sdn Bhd to jointly explore and develop two major economic initiatives in Perlis – the mining of rare earth elements and other minerals, and the planting of Napier hybrid grass and Blackthorn durian. Both projects will be carried out in collaboration with Menteri Besar Incorporated Perlis (MBI Perlis), the state’s investment vehicle. ENERGISING TIES ... Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of Energy Asia 2025 in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. SHARE SALE ... Flexidynamic Holdings Bhd, a solutions provider for the rubber glove manufacturing industry, has entered into two share sale agreements with HARPS Investment Asia Pte Ltd and separately with two minority shareholders for the acquisition of 100% equity interest in Formtech Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, a glove former manufacturer based in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. NEW ROUTES ... AirAsia Malaysia has announced two new direct routes from Kuala Lumpur to Palembang and Semarang, enhancing travel access between Malaysia and Indonesia with a total of 188 weekly flights now operating between the two countries. At a press conference held in Palembang on Tuesday to mark the new routes are, from third left, AirAsia head of commercial Liyana Mahizzan, South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru, Malaysia’s head of chancery/consul in Medan Muhammad Amir Azam Mohd Hafiz and AirAsia Indonesia head of government relations Eddy Krismeidi Soemawilaga.

Master Tec Group Bhd, a premier player in the manufacture and distribution of power, control and instrumentation cables, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Yangtze (Jiangsu) Marine Technology Co Ltd (YOFC Marine) to explore collaboration in high-specification and next-generation cable solutions for Malaysia’s growing power infrastructure market. UPSTREAM PARTNERSHIP ... Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd on Wednesday entered into a strategic partnership in upstream business with Beicip-Franlab and AFED Digital. They entered into a joint development agreement via TriCipta AI, a pioneering venture aimed at accelerating hydrocarbon discovery, reducing uncertainties, and maximising recovery sustainably across Petronas Carigali’s operations.
