Cannes glitz F ROM a “new” dress code for women to French film star Gerard Depardieu being found guilty for sexual harassment, this year’s Cannes Film Festival was the hot topic leading up to the day of the event. Although the film festival was the talk of the town, but its red carpet event, which is normally a place for a fashion statement, was lacklustre this year-round. Perhaps, it is due to the rigid dress code by the Cannes authorities that prohibited nudity (read: see through fits) and long dress trains for women attendees. Although lacklustre, the women of the film industry did not dissapoint as they showed up in their finest frock to walk the Cannes red carpet.
