In their words: A mother’s love
As a mother, I’ve learned that love is both a foundation and a catalyst for growth. Every lesson, every sacrifice, is a step toward shaping a future where my children can thrive and lead.”
Jasmine Ng, single mom of two, technopreneur
Motherhood, to me, is a precious gift – one I nearly missed, having married at 29 and welcoming my two children at 30 and 31. I’ve loved every moment from the perfect mom. I probably pampered them more than I should, showering them with hugs, of watching them grow, even if I’m far “I love yous”, toys, outings and holidays. I’ve always encouraged them to think for themselves and find their own path. While I stressed the importance of education, I never pressured them, trusting they would thrive once they discovered what they love. Now, at 20 and 19, they’re doing just that and I couldn’t be prouder.”
When my mom had a stroke, my siblings and I came together, but what moved me most was how our children, including my own, stepped in with such care and compassion. Motherhood has taught me that we don’t just raise kids – we raise thoughtful individuals who show up for others. The greatest reward for me as a mother is the privilege of caring for my own mum and raising sons who now help care for her too. A good upbringing doesn’t just raise good kids. It lays the foundation for a more caring, connected society.”
Fazlyn Kamal, mother of two boys and 11 cats
To me, being a mother is both a blessing and a divine responsibility. It is a sacrifice wrapped in joy, duty carried with love. To nurture a life is no small task, it is a miracle entrusted by God. And in that sacred role, I’ve found purpose, strength and grace.”
Vasugi Lechumanan, mum of two, Carnatic music teacher
On Mother’s Day, the paramount joy lies in seeing our children happy, safe, and healthy. My heartfelt wish extends not just to my son but to all children worldwide, especially those in Gaza. Let’s come together in prayer, mothers everywhere, to protect and cherish each other’s well-being and that of our beloved little ones.”
Noryani Ismail, mother of two, PR practitioner
Zuhaila Sedek, mother of one, peace lover
