Singaporean artistes Regina Song, Hongjoin unite SINGAPOREAN singer-songwriters Regina Song and Hongjoin have joined forces to release their new playful and youthful duet I Don’t Rly Care Bout You! . An explosive old-school, pop rock song that is straight out of a teenage romcom, I Don’t Rly Care Bout You! is the first collaborative track after Song’s debut album Fangirl and Hongjoin’s sophomore album Komorebi . Following their respective releases, the Singaporean duo met up earlier this year in Boston, US, where Hongjoin is based at, to produce I Don’t Rly Care Bout You! . The duet expresses the feelings of frustrations and misunderstandings that come about in youthful love, driven by sentiments of Song’s first love experience with a nonchalant guy who broke her heart. After confiding in Hongjoin over this story, the roots of I Don’t Rly Care Bout You! were sowed. I Don’t Rly Care Bout You! , mixed and produced by Hongjoin and co produced by Doug Suh, is energetic, punchy and full of life. The song also received a full band arrangement that gets listeners dancing their frustrations away. Song, 20, and Hongjoin, 22, hope their fans who might be going through a period of unreciprocated love can feel the catharsis from this song and forget about their worries. The song is accompanied by a music video released on Youtube, filmed and edited by Anthony Li from NYTE Works as well as a live one-take performance video filmed by Li and mixed by Hongjoin.
